Question 1046611: On the second exam, the student and exercise 33 earns a score of 60% on a 20 question test. This time the instructor allows him to work 20 extra problems to improve his score. How many must he get right to raise his grade to 70%?

He got 12 right out of 20. That is 60%
With 20 more questions, his new total will be 40, and 70% of 40 is 28. He would have to get 16 questions right.
He has a 60% average with 20; if he wants to have a 70% average, he must get 80% to balance it out.
