Question 1046137: To receive an A grade, a student must average 100 or less but more than 93. If Emma received an A in the course and had five grades of 96, 89, 96, 79, and 100 before taking the final exam, what were the possible grades for her final if there were 100 points possible?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Average=total/n
n*average=total
The minimum average is 93 (I am going to assume 93.0 is acceptable, although the question could be interpreted to mean more than that).
Therefore, the total minimum is 6*93=558
The five scores add to 460. To get an A, she needed a 98, 99, or 100.
460+x> = 558
x.>=98.
