Question 1027598: James has 4 test scores of 82, 77, 75 and 84. What score does James need on the next test to have an average of 80? State what x represents, state the equation, and then state the answer
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
average = sum of observations/number
80=400/5
Therefore, the sum of the scores has to equal 400.
400-(82+77+75+84)=x
400-(318)=x
x=82
That is the minimum score needed.
