Question 1011438: If a person makes a 72 on a quiz that is ten percent and a 60 on their second quiz that is ten percent, and makes a 77 on their test that is forty percent what is their average?
Answer by addingup(3677)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's a weighted average problem:
72*.1= 7.2
60*.1= 6.0
77*.4= 30.8
---------------
Average: 44 Note: One test:10% another: 10% another: 40%= 60%. Either you're missing one grade that's worth 40% or this is a real life example and you have one test to go that will be worth 40%.
Anyway, you're 40% short.
