Question 998627: The sum of the measures of the angles in a triangle in a triangle is 180 degrees angle x is equal in measure to angle y angle z is 46 degrees less than angle y find the measure of each angle

x+y+z= 180 This is the formula we will use.
x = y
or
y= x, in an equality it makes no difference We will use 2y to include both angles
and
z= y-46
Back to the formula above:
x+y+z= 180
2y+y-46= 180
3y= 180+46
3y= 226
y= 75.33
Proof:
x+y+z= 180
75.33+75.33+(75.33-46)= 180
150.66+29.33= 180
180= 180 We have the correct answer
note: I get 179.99 but it's because of the rounding of the decimals. If we do it with fractions we get exactly 180:
75 1/3+75 1/3+29 1/3= 180
150 2/3+ 29 1/3= 180
180= 180
Good luck.
