Question 980993: what will be the angle made by hour and minute hand when time in clock is 7:20?
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The Minute hand is rotated (1/3)(360) degrees from 12:00;
the Hour hand is rotated (7/12)(360)+(1/3)(1/12)(360) degrees from 12:00.
the two terms for the Hour hand work like so:
Seven whole hours and then a fraction of the hour between hour 7 and hour 8. Twenty minutes is one-third of an hour, and the big numbers on the clock show a whole clockface rotation is cut into twelve equal parts, so ----- one third of one twelfth.
You basically want degrees.
