x=8(180-x)
1440-8x
9x=1440
x=160
So the angle is 160 degrees and it's complimentary angle would be 20 degrees

The measure of an angle is eight times the measure of a complementary angle. What is the measure of each angle?

Let the measure of the larger angle, be A
Then its complement is: 90 - A
Therefore, A = 8(90 - A)
A = 720 - 8A
A + 8A = 720
9A = 720
A, or measure of larger angle = , or
Measure of smaller angle (larger angle's complement) = 90 - 80, or
