Question 846767: if the measures of the angles of a triangle are 2x+15 degrees, 8x +15 degrees and x + 15 degrees. solve for the value of x and the value of all three angles.

Remember that the sum of all the angles of a triangle will always equal 180 degrees.
That means you just add all the values for the angles and equal the sum to 180 and solve for x.
(2x+15) + (8x+15) + (x+15) = 180
Simplify by combining like terms.
11x + 45 = 180
Subtract each side by 45
11x = 135
x = 12.27, or if we round up 12.3. That means that the first angle 2x+15 = 39.6, the second angle, 8x+15 = 113.4, and the last angle x+15 = 27.3
39.6 + 113.4 + 27.3 = 180.3 or 180 degrees.
