The measure of an angle is 8 more than three times the measure of its supplement. Find the measures of both angles.
---------
x + y = 180
x = 3y + 8
------------
Substitute for "x" and solve for "y":
3y+8 + y = 180
4y = 172
y = 43 degrees
x = 180-43 = 137 degrees
