Question 827124: The measure of the supplement of an angle is six more than five times than the measure of the original angle. What is the measure of both angles?
Answer by LinnW(1048)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = the angle
180 - x = the supplement
180 - x = 5x + 6
add x to each side.
180 = 6x + 6
subtract 6 from each side.
174 = 6x
divide each side by 6
29 = x
The supplement ( 180 - x ) = ( 180 - 29 ) = 151
The original angle is 29 and the supplement is 151
