one of the exterior angles of a triangle is 120 and the interior opposite angles are in the ratio 4:2 find the angles of the triangle
:
Find the interior angle: 180 - 120 = 60 degrees (Angle 3)
:
Let x = the multiplier
then
4x = Angle 1
2x = Angle 2
:
4x + 2x + 60 = 180
6x = 120
x = 120/6
x = 20 is the multiplier
therefore
Angle 1: 4(20) = 80 degrees
Angle 2: 2(20) = 40 degrees
Angle 3: 60 degrees
