Two angles equal 360 degree. If one is 60 degrees more than twice the other what are the measures of the angles?
.
Let x = "other" angle
then from "one is 60 degrees more than twice the other "
2x+60 = first angle
.
from: "Two angles equal 360 degree" we get our equation:
x + (2x+60) = 360
3x+60 = 360
3x = 300
x = 100 degrees
.
other angle:
2x+60 = 2(100)+60 = 200+60 = 260 degrees
.
answer: 100 degrees and 260 degrees
