If the measures of the exterior angles of the acute angles of a right triangle are 2x+15 and 3x+5, find the measures of the acute angles.
Ans:
Remember that the sum of the angle + the exterior angle is 180.
Also that the sum of the 3 angles of the triangle is 180. In the right triangle,
since one angle is 90, the sum of the other 2 acute angles is 90 as well.
If the 2 acute angles are A and B,


Similarly,

So
A + B = 90
So,
Combining like terms,



So the first acute angle A = = =
The second acute angle B = = =
