Complementary angles are 2 angles that add to 90 degrees, and supplementary angles are angles that add to 180 degrees. For instance in a triangle with a 90 degree angle, there are 2 angles that will add to 90 degrees. If you add the two sums (90+90) you get 180 degrees, which is what all angles of a triangle add to. If you have a straight line and you cut it in half, you get 2 supplementary angles, since a straight line is 180 degrees. Those 2 supplementary angles are 90 degrees and 90 degrees which add to 180 degrees. Hope this explanation makes sense.
