Question 715547: The measure of an angle is forty-four times the measure of a supplementary angle. What is the measure of each angle?

Let the two angles be x and y.
Then we have
(1) x + y = 180 (supplements) and
(2) x = 44*y
Substitute x of (2) into (1) and get
(3) 44*y + y = 180 or
(4) 45*y = 180 or
(5) y = 4
Then from (1) we get
(6) x + 4 = 180 or
(7) x = 176
Let's check this with (2)
Is (176 = 44*4)?
Is (176 = 176)? Yes
Answer: The two angles are 4 and 176 degrees.
