Question 702462: Im having trouble trying to understand ADJACENT angles because the question shows 2 lines crossing and is 1, 2, 3 and 4. My book only gives the ABC examples and shows a vertex. I have no idea how to do this because it dont show an example of this kind of question. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Much easier to have the picture to explain this to you.
The adjascent angles have their nonadjascent rays forming one of the lines, and form supplementary angles (meaning 180 degrees when their measures are summed). Adjascent means "next to", or "neighboring and in contact".
The above picture shows two lines crossing. Angle 1 and angle 2 are adjascent angles, and you see that they sit together forming supplementary angles. The sum of angle 1 and angle 2 is a straight angle, or 180 degrees.
