let the angles be x and y
so x + y = 180
let x be the larger angle and y the smaller angle
y = 70 + 4x
substitute this into x + y = 180
x + 70 + 4x = 180
5x + 70 = 180
5x = 110
x = 22 degrees
substitute x = 22 into any of the equations, let's use x + y = 180
22 + y = 180
y = 158 degrees
