Find the measure of an angle,
it its supplement measures 44 degrees more than twice its complement.
:
Let x = the angle
:
We know that the supplement of an angle is: "that angle subtracted from 180"
and the complement of an angle is: "that angle subtracted from 90"
:
The equation for the given statement
180 - x = 2(90-x) + 44
:
180 - x = 180 - 2x + 44
:
180 - x + 2x = 224
:
x = 224 - 180
:
x = 44 degrees is the angle
