Supplementary angles add to 180. Call the angles x and y. x+y=180


x = 4y-3 (three less than 4 times y). Substitute this for x into the first equation and solve it.


4y-3+y = 180


5y = 183


y=36.6


x = 180-36.6 = 143.4
