The difference between an angle and its complement is 38°
x - (90°-x) = 38°
x -90° + x = 38°
2x = 128°
x = 64° It's complement 26°
and...
64° -26° = 38°

Let x represent the angle and 90-x represent it's complement.
x - (90-x) = 38
x - 90 + x = 38
2x - 90 = 38
2x - 90 + 90 = 38 + 90
2x = 128
2x/2 = 128/2
x= 64
90 - x = 26
