Two angles are complementary.  x + y = 90

The measure of one angle is 21 more than twice the measure of the other angle.

x + y = 90°    || substituting for y..

x + (2x+21) = 90° 

  3x = 69°   

   x = 23° and y = 67°   || 

and..

23° + 67° = 90°
