Question 627026: if the slope segment connecting the points (x, 3) and (9, 4) is 4, what is the value of x?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

4 = (4-3)/(9-x)

4 = 1/(9-x)

4(9-x) = 1

36-4x = 1

-4x = 1-36

-4x = -35

x = -35/(-4)

x = 35/4

So the value of x is
