Thw paralellogram is a rhombus, and its asking to solve for xy. 

Note: sides of a rhombus are of equal length

3y+4 = 7y-4 

  8 = 4y      y = 2 

2x+4 = 4x+2   

   2 = 2x     x = 1 and     xy = 1·2 = 2
