Question 543946: find the measure of an angle such that the sum of the measures of its complement and its supplement is 110
Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The sum of an angle and its compliment is 90 degrees.
x+c=90
c=90-x

The sum of an angle and its supplement is 180 degrees.
x+s=180
s=180-x

In this case c+s=110
Substitute the values, in terms of x, for c and s.
90-x + 180-x = 110
270-2x=110
-2x=-160
x=80
