Question 528199: angle PQR and angle ABC are supplementary angles and angle PQR is three times as large as angle ABC. Determine the measure of each angle.
(note: i'm not good at making equations from word problems. i believe i know the answer but that's only because i'm a visual learner so i can picture things in my head and come up the the answers by estimating a picture. from my picture i got that PQR is 135 and angle ABC is 45 i believe. but i have to come up with an equation to show my work....so far i have got x+3x=180; 4x=180; x=45, then i subtract 180 from 45 which gives me 135.) please help me

The work you showed is exactly correct. Write it just exactly as you wrote it in your posting.

The only thing in your posting that is wrong is the statement: "note: i'm not good at making equations from word problems."
