Question 501979: Please help me with a homework question I am stuck on.
The ratio of the measures of two angles is 2:1. The measure of the complement of the larger angle is 4 times the measure of the smaller angle. Find the measure of the larger angle.
I think it's confusing, and I need some help translating the equation.
Thanks in advance!

Answer by cleomenius(959)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let x = smaller angle.
90 - 2x = 4x
90 = 6x
x = 15, the smaller angle.
2x = 30 degrees, the larger angle.
4(15) = 60 degrees, which is the measure of the complement of thirty, the larger angle.
this does check.
Cleomenius.
