x + 2x + 12 = 180
3x = 168
x = 56 degrees the angle
180 =56 = 124 degrees the supplement.
124 - 12 = 112 \2 = 56 degrees.

An angle is 12 less than one half of its supplement. What is the supplement?

Let the angle be A

Then its supplement is 180 - A

Then:

2A = 180 - A - 24 --------- Multiply by LCD, 2

3A = 156

A, or the angle = , or

Its supplement is therefore: (180 - 52)
