I used linear addition to add the two equations.
y -2 + 2x + 3 = 90
2x -y + x - 1 = 90
===================================================
y + 2x = 89
-y + 3x = 91. ; Now, add the two equations.
5x = 180
x = 36 degrees,
======================================================
Plug 36 into the first equation to obtain y.
y - 2 + 72 + 3 = 90
y = 17 degrees.
===================================================
Plug into the second equation to check.
2(36) -17 + 36 -1 = 90
144 - 17 + 36-1 = 90
y = 17 degrees.
======================================================
Now obtain L and M.
Angle L = 17 - 2 = 15 degrees.
Angle M = 2(36) + 3 = 75degrees.
==========================================================
Now check angle L and angle m to ensure they are complements.
15 degrees + 75 degrees = 90 degrees
=========================================================
Now obtain N and P.
Angle N = 2(36) - 17 = 55 degrees.
Angle P = 36 -1 = 35 degrees.
=============================================================
Now check angle L and angle m to ensure they are complements.
55 degrees + 35 degrees = 90 degrees.
