Question 487345: my problem is this angle abd and bde are supplementary. it says to find the measures of both angles
angle ABD = 5 and BDE = ( 17x-18)

Answer by cleomenius(959)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
180 - 5 = 175 degrees, so that be the value of the second angle.
To solve for x.
5 + 17x -18 = 180 degrees
17x = 193 degrees.
x = 11.35 degrees.
17(11.35) -13 = 179.95.
This particular problem could also be solved as
180 - 5 = 175 degress, so that be the value of the second angle.
17x - 18 = 175
17x = 193
x = 11.35
