Question 455884: Two angles are supplementary if their sum is 180 degrees. The larger angle measures four degrees more than seven times the measure of a smaller angle. If x represents the measure of the smaller angle and these two angles are supplementary, find the measure of each angle.

Since x represent the measure of a smaller angle then the measure of the other angle will be:(7x+4) degree. Since their sum is 180 degree we write:
x+7x+4=180 solving this equation we get: 8x=176 => x=22 degree.
Answer: The smaller angle is 22 degree and the other angle is: 7x22+4=158 degree.
