Question 438543: A pole makes an 85 degree angle with the ground what is the measure of the angle the pole makes with the vertical?

That depends on whether the ground is perfectly horizontal. Presuming it is, and knowing that horizontal and vertical are perpendicular (meaning the angle between them is 90 degrees), simply subtract 85 degrees from 90 degrees.
