Question 405391: what are 2 supplementary angels if one is 5 times the other?
Answer by IWork4Dessert(60) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Supplementary angles are two angles whose values, when added up, equal 180º.
You know that one of your angles is 5 times the other angle, and you know that together they must be 180.
Let's have the first angle be "x". That means that the other angle would be "5x".
Now all you have to do is make an equation.
(x)+(5x)=180
6x=180
x=30
Your first angle is 30. Now multiply it by 5 to get the 5x.
5x=150
30+150=180
And it works. Questions? Let me know!
Hope this helps :)
