You aren't showing what is happening properly, except that the answer is coming out correctly. The 90 should be crossed out and replaced by 89 and the middle 60 on the top row should be crossed out and replaced with a 59 -- just like 'borrowing' you learned in the 2nd grade -- the only difference being that you are borrowing 60 minutes or 60 seconds of arc instead of 10 units. The only thing left on this problem is to subtract 48 seconds from 60 seconds.
