Seven times the complement of an angle is 6 more than the supplement of the angle.
What is the measure of the angle?
:
Let x = the angle
we know
(90-x) = complement of x
and
(180-x)= supplement of x
:
The equation for the statement:
"Seven times the complement of an angle is 6 more than the supplement of the angle."
7(90-x) = (180-x) + 6
630 - 7x = -x + 186
630 - 186 = -x + 7x
444 = 6x
x =
x = 74 degrees is the angle
