Question 311567: Two angles are supplementary. One angle is 15° more than three times the other angle. Find the measures of the angles. (Let x and y represent the angles.)
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=3y+15
x+y=180
(3y+15)+y=180
3y+15+y=180
4y=180-15
4y=165
y=165/4
41.25 degrees for the smaller angle.
x=3*41.25+15
x=138.75 ans. for the larger angle.
Proof:
41.25+138.75=180
180=180
