An angle measures 12 degrees less than three times its supplement. Find the measure of the angle.
-----
Equations:
x + y = 180
y = 3x-12
-----
substitute for "y" and solve for "x":
x + 3x-12 = 180
4x = 192
x = 48 degrees
y = 3x-12 = 3(48)-12 = 144-12 = 132 degrees (This is the angle you
are asked to find)
