Two angles are complementary and the ratio of their measures is 7:2.
What are their angle measures?
:
Let x = the multiplier
then
7x = 1st angle
2x = 2nd angle
;
Complementary means they add up to 90
7x + 2x = 90
9x = 90
x = 10 is the multiplier
:
7(10) = 70 degrees is the 1st angle
2(10) = 20 degrees is the 2nd angle
