Question 265656: can yall help me solve compplementary and supplementary angels im in 6th grade

Actually, they are angles. The angels either play baseball or
fly around in heaven.
Two angles that are complementary add up to 90 degrees
Two angles that are supplementary add up to 180 degrees
For example:
50 + 40 = 90
50 degrees and 40 degrees are complementary
and
125 + 55 = 180
125 degrees and 55 degrees are supplementary
Now suppose I say:
50 + x = 90
That says 50 degrees and what other angle are complementary?
The other angle must be 40 degrees
Or, I could have asked:
125 + x are supplementary. What is x?
That's the same as
125 + x = 180
x = 55 degrees
