complementary angles add up to 90
90-x=c
2c+15=x
substitute 90-x for c
2(90-x)+15=x
180-2x+15=x
add 2x both sides
180+15=3x
195=3x
divide by 3
65=x
90-65=25=c
check
2(25)+15=65
50+15=65
65=65
