Notice that angle a is located where two lines cross. Two angles are equal where two lines cross. In other words, vertical lines are congruent. So, the measure of angle a = 110 degrees.
Angle b = 180 degrees - 130 degrees
Where did 180 come from? It is the measure of a straight line. Angle b lies on a straight line. See it?
Angle b = 50 degrees
