Two angles are supplementary. One angle measures 26 degrees more then the other. find the measure of the two angles?

Step 1. Two angles are supplementary when the angles add up to 180 degrees.

Step 2. Let x be one angle and 180-x be the its supplementary angle.

Step 3. Then, x=180-x+26 or 2x=206. Dividing by 2 to both sides of the equation , gives x=103 and 180-103=77. As a check these angles add up to 180 and one angle is 26 degrees more than the other.

Step 4. ANSWER: The two supplementary angles are 103 and 77 degrees.
