Question 16864: In triangle ABC, angle A is 5 times angle B and angle C is 16 degrees less than angle B. What are the measures of these three angles?

1x + 5x -16x = 180
6x - 16x = 10x divided by 10 = 180 divided by 10
x = 18
B = x = 18
A = 5x = 5 . 18 = 90
C = -16x = -16 x18 = -288?

The three equations you should use are:
A=5B (A is 5 times B)
C=B-16 (C is 16 less than B)
A+B+C=180 (Rule from geometry)
Substitue for A & C in terms of B in the third equation to get:

You should be fine from here.
