Question 155103: The measures of two angles are in the ratio 5:3. The measure of the larger angle is 30 greater then half the difference of the angles. Find the measure of each angle.
I have: L=30+.5(L-S)
L/S=5/3 or 3L=5S

Let b be the bigger and s the smaller.
5s=3b
s=3b/5
.
2b=60+b-s Multiply each side by 2 to eliminate the fraction.
Substitute for s.
10b=300+5b-3b Multiply each side by 5 to eliminate the fraction.
8b=300
b=37.5
s=22.5
.
