cross%28x%29%28%2811%29%2Fcross%28x%29%29=4x-cross%28x%29%28%281%29%2Fcross%28x%29%29 Multiply every term on both sides by the LCD x. Doing this will eliminate all of the fractions.


11=4x-1 Simplify


12=4x Add 1 to both sides.


3=x Divide both sides by 4.


So the solution is x=3
