The supplement of an obtuse angle is an acute angle. Since an obtuse angle is greater than 90 degrees, the other angle must be less than 90 degrees in order for both angles to add to 180.
The complement of an acute angle is an acute angle. Since complementary angles add to 90 degrees, the only angles that add to 90 are acute angles.
