Let the angle be x degrees;

then the complement angle is 90-x degrees,

and your equation to find x is

    x - (90-x) = 20  degrees.

Simplify and find x

    2x - 90 = 20

    2x      = 20 + 90 = 110

     x                = 110/2 = 55  degrees.    ANSWER

The angle measure is 20 degrees more than the complement. So let the complement be x; then the measure of the angle is x+20.

Since the angles are complementary, the sum of their measures is 90 degrees.

ANSWER: The measure of the complement is x=35 degrees.

The measure of the angle is 20° greater than its complement what is the measure of the complement?
Let angle's complement be C
Then angle is: 90 - C
With the angle being 20° greater than the complement, we get: 90 - C = C + 20
- C - C = 20 - 90
- 2C = - 70
