The measure of one angle is 38 less than the measure of its supplement. Find the measure of each angle.
solution
let one angle is x and other is 38 less means x-38
x+x-38=180
2x-38=180
2(x-19)=180
x-19=90
x=90+19=109
and other angle will be 38 less than 109
other angle will be 109-38=71
answer 71,109
