Question 1088183: The length of a rectangle is 4cm less than five times the width. The perimeter of the rectangle is 76cm. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.
Answer by akch2002(12)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let width = w
Hence, length = 5w-4
Perimeter = 2(5w-4+w)=76
or, 6w-4=38
or, 6w = 38+4 = 42
or, w = 42/6 = 7cms
Length = 7*5-4 = 31cms.
