a pair of vertical angles is formed as shown below. 175 at top and (5x+30). Which best represents the value of x.
If vertically opposite each other, then 175 = 5x + 30
If adjacent to each other, then: 175 + 5x + 30 = 180
As seen, they CANNOT be adjacent, so they must be the former!
