Two angles are complementary.
One angle measures (4x + 1) degrees.
The other measures (5x - 16) degrees.
Which of the following would be an equation you could use to solve this problem?
:
Let A = one angle which measures (4x+1)
let B = the other angle which measures (5x-16)
:
A + B = 90
therefore
(4x+1) + (5x-16) = 90; is the equation
To solve
9x - 15 = 90
9x = 90 + 15
9x = 105
x = 105/9
x = 11
Use this value to find A & B, check by seeing if they add up to 90
